The word ‘modern’ means new and up-to-date and therefore modern dancing is always changing and developing. Modern dance can be performed to many types of music and can be seen in music videos, pop concerts and theatre shows. The classes are fun and lively helping to gain flexibility and strength in the body. Throughout the grades in modern, children will learn and experience a wide range of exciting dance styles including contemporary, lyrical, blues, jazz, commercial/street and isolations. Classes are based on correct technique which is derived from classical ballet. 

Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps, and turns, which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style.
